IIn Memoriam
In loving memory of Lida Hagopian, a gem of purest ray serene, an innocent soul, born in
the hallowed Old City of Jerusalem, whose footsteps also echoed
in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, and on the
sunswept sidewalks and distant shores
of Australia.
Even as a little child, Lida proved to be a prolific writer. She also gave vivid expression
to her nascent artistic talent.
Her childhood literary attempts are mainly variations on familiar themes - but when
developed by her, they show a fertile imagination enhanced by her mastery of dialogue.
An undercurrent of profound compassion underscores her narratives which are further
enriched by a delightful sense of humor.
As an artist, she opts for impressionism, her canvases afloat with sharp contrasts in
whorls and dabs and freehand lines and shapes of rich color that blend with each other
harmoniously, evocative of a world where all conflicts are resolved.
Mementos of an innocent childhood.
