IIn Memoriam
In loving memory of Lida Hagopian, a gem of purest ray serene, an innocent soul, born in
the hallowed Old City of Jerusalem, whose footsteps also echoed
in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, and on the
sunswept sidewalks and distant shores
of Australia.
A creature of infinite tenderness, Lida's heart overflows with
love for all, regardless. She loves all creatures, big and small.
But for those injured like her, there's a special place in her soul.
She has diverse talents, many of them unrecognized and
unappreciated.
She speaks four languages fluently: English, Armenian, Hebrew,
Arabic.
Her abstract paintings show enormous promise.
Her overriding passions are music and religious epics.
As a little girl, she filled dozens of exercise books listing the top
ten hits of the day.
The Ten Commandments, Ben Hur, the Song of Bernadette, and
Jesus of Nazareth are her perennial favorites.
Romantic stories she devours by the dozen.
She loves stuffed toys, with Bugs Bunny the most cherished. The
last one has been with her for years.
Her first computer game, on that good ol' Apple II+ was the
heroic Superbunny.
It was on the same Apple that she taught herself how to type
(using two fingers only, like many others). Ceaselessly, she
crunched out story after story. Mostly religious topics, but there
are some fairy tales as well.
And she just loves dancing! And climbing rocks. That's what has
kept her so svelte, and attracted the boys to her. But it's more
than a pretty face that will win the affections of this fair maiden.
What is of paramount importance to her is to have a beautiful
heart.
